My beautiful Pedes, by Jax Leck

My Beautiful Pedes

Pedicurial perfection
my little donkeys
silken to  the touch
lying in lavender-soaked socks
Calcaneus and talus
so beautifully formed
No neanderthal flanges here
Navicular and cuboid
Vie for my attention
I love them both
And such sweet toes
Perfect as a child’s
Crowned by nails
Pampered and painted
I tell the rest
Hush, no jealousy
For without them
We are senseless

She has one science fantasy book in print called The Seeress of Ruskan and is currently working on a futuristic view of Britain in 2031. She thinks poetry is the hardest writing discipline and the one she would like to understand more fully.
