Michael McGill

Quiet Man, Front Page

Quiet Man at home;
sandwiches in the garden;
a nice breeze outside.

Hunter in the streets
asking questions, taking notes:
“Always seemed jolly.”

“He was a nice chap…”
The locals remain loyal
to a quiet man.

I don’t understand
where these days take us; somewhere
strange or forbidden.

A cold breeze outside;
the garden is overgrown;
Quiet Man, front page.
