Callander Haiku Walk

Shell duck preens herself.
A glimpse of blue on her wing
matched sky and water.

Such solid mountains!
The middle one scowls blackly,
gentle mist dissolves.

So high salmon leap
and fall back with a loud splash
indefatigable.

Breathing crisper air
crows croak from goldening trees
Autumn is coming.

Water flows like grey silk
from celestial mountains
spiritual bells chime.

Illegible  graves
warming in morning’s sunshine
pleasantly resting.

Birds chirrup from twigs
songs in season with the year.
In snow some songs freeze.
