Terrence L Sykes

Devonshire

dusk settles into
my side garden
amongst flora & fauna
wasp who has been
about his nothingness
all day lingers
on occasion

dawn found us
introduced  us
both while I sipped
tea & nibbled some
sugar laden scone
mist & fog were about as well
mizzle danced counterpoint
upon the Cornwall cliffs
silent roaring great waters

attempts to read & write poems
my muse seems to prefer
dry sunny Devonshire days
distractions
all seem to be in vain
then onto afternoon tea

now at the closure of day
he nor I seemed
to have accomplished
much to create billable hours
perhaps like I this noble
creature suffers from
restless soul syndrome
